I agree with your assessment. In any given year the top 16 teams in the Champions League are fairly evenly matched. Each game could go either way.
I think I made my posting as a reaction to all the claims of La Liga's superiority over Serie A. I do not buy it. I think these two leagues, along with the EPL and the Bundesliga, are all at the same level.
Thanks for the ping... I had a blast at the DC United/Harbor View match last week -- I only hope United can hold onto a slim 2-1 lead in the second leg down in Jamaica. I'm also glad that I TiVo-ed the Chelsea/Barcelona match and watched it without knowing the result -- very thrilling!
He was fantastic for DC United against Harbor View this past week -- didn't figure into the goals, but he was all over the place in breaking up the HV attack and midfield possession.
WOW. Hope I can remember to try to watch.
Wish this game was going to be in DC.
