Texas Freepers a Call to Arms! The Panty Brigade.
Ankarlo.net ^ | 03/15/05 | Daryl Ankarlo

73 Pantywaisted Texas House members voted to approve HB3 on Monday night, March 13. HB3 hits small businesses and regular citizens with new and increased taxes The Republicans have charge of the Texas Legislature for the first time in a century and they voted for a HUGE NEW tax!! What are they thinking??!!

I am asking all citizens to send the Republicans (and Dems too if you want) who voted for the tax a pair of PANTIES since they proved they are sissies! (You can buy a yellow pair at Walmart for 88 cents.) Send the panties to as many BAD House members that you can afford to.

All House members (especially Republicans who voted for the tax) deserve the panties!! Let them know you think they wimped out by sending them a new selection of underwear!!! REMEMBER, THESE PEOPLE GET THE PANTIES!!!

Republicans voting 'yes'

Speaker of the House Tom Craddick; Allen, R; Anderson; Baxter; Berman; Blake; Bohac; Bonnen; Branch; Brown, B.; Brown, F.; Callegari; Campbell; Casteel; Chisum; Cook, B.; Corte; Crabb; Crownover; Davis, J.; Dawson; Denny; Driver; Eissler; Elkins; Flynn; Geren; Goodman; Goolsby; Griggs; Grusendorf; Hamilton; Hamric; Hardcastle; Hartnett; Hill; Hope; Howard; Hunter; Hupp; Isett; Jackson; Keffer, B.; Keffer, J.; King, P.; Kolkhorst; Krusee; Kuempel; Madden; Miller; Morrison; Mowery; Nixon; Orr; Otto; Phillips; Pitts; Riddle; Seaman; Smith, T.; Smith, W.; Smithee; Solomons; Straus; Swinford; Talton; Taylor; Truitt; Van Arsdale; Wong; Woolley; Zedler. Absent and not voting- Delisi; Gattis; Harper-Brown; West- send them a big 'thanks' as well.

Democrats voting 'yes'

Edwards

The House members disregarded the Will of the People and voted to keep their political careers intact by voting to RAISE and CREATE NEW TAXES instead of listening to us!! We have to let them know we are watching them!!

Now, we have to start applying the pressure to the Texas Senators who think they can get away with passing this junk legislation on to the governor for signing!

We will fight and we will WIN!

While you're thinking about it: Send a kind note or phone call to the good guys who voted AGAINST the tax. REMEMBER, THESE ARE THE GOOD GUYS--BE NICE TO THEM! These folks voted NO! (click here to determine your representative and find their contact information)

Given that 92.3% of the conservatives in the state are pushing HB 3 and 2, don't expect much support.

"Given that 92.3% of the conservatives in the state are pushing HB 3 and 2..."

If conservatives want it, then it's not a tax increase right? Otherwise, they aren't conservatives, right?

I'd hardly call anyone a conservative who votes for a tax increase.

Odd.

Quite frankly I want my $5.4 bil in property tax relief.

The bill is revenue neutral (supposedly). Property tax relief and franchise tax elimination in exchange for some new business taxes.

The new tax increases taxes on cigarettes by $1.00 a pack, adds a 3% "Snack Tax", burdens business' with either a franchise tax or 1.5% payroll tax. However, it does gives property owners a small tax break. Hardly a fair trade-off...

Ah. A tax shell game. Ok well, I'm all for turning them red in the face. Nothing wrong with making it clear you want more cuts sooner, and no new taxes. Go for it!

Maybe we should do the same thing here in Virginia. I could get people to sign some panties: the Pantywaist Petition! Yeah. Get people in Texas to sign the panties with flair pens. Or jock straps, depending on the gender. "The Pantywaist Tax Petition".

I think I'll go with the Jock Strap. The "Get a Pair Petition". Men, women, gender neutral.
