American TV host Oprah Winfrey is ditching the high life to star in a poverty striken TV reality series.
The 51 year old media mogul, with an estimated net worth of 300 million, has agreed to live a life of poverty in the hard hitting documentary.
Winfrey will reside in a high rise apartment in a notoriously tough Chicago, Illinois, neighborhood for one month. The series plans to highlight America's inner city housing 'crisis.'
A spokeswoman for Harpo Productions says that Oprah has ' Interviewed just about every major celebrity and done shows on almost every topic imaginable. But now she intends to tackle really tough, serious issues, putting herself right on the front line.
But to ensure Winfrey's safety, she will be shadowed by security guards during her stay. But the spokesperson adds, 'In every other respect she will have to fend for herself, just like many people who have to live in these substandard conditions.'

Why? She's lived the poverty stricken life before.
By the way, she's contaminated the thing already by having security guards. Women have to fend for themselves in these places. Men at least have unregistered guns.
Only $300 million? Don't be so modest, Oprah. The Forbes 2005 rich list put her at $1.3 Billion.
But the problem is she really cannot do this, because if she lived in this area without bodyguards, she'd be kidnapped for a large ransom.
And there will be several TV cameras following her around, just like the other tenants have...

I'd like to see Paris Hilton try to make it as a poor crack whore. We already know she can survive as a rich one.

the prime characteristic of our bolsheviks is that they live lives of luxury while they "be helpin' po' folks".
meanwhile, the po' folks all have tvs, cars, houses, sex, music, movies, etc. the po' folks get angry when they watch their tv's,
and, of course, vote democrat.
I like Oprah. Calling her a worthless POS just because you disagree is tacky. She's done lots of other good things. I just think this one is a dumb idea.

(IIRC she also had the whole building fumigated first so she wouldn't bring any 'critters' home with her after her stunt was over)
