It's time for anyone considering retirement in Florida to SERIOUSLY re-think their plans.
There are many other states (and countries, for that matter) where they will be safer from murder under the color of authority when they get a little infirm and inconvienent.
If you are retired in Florida, and you are still able, you might consider getting out while you still can...
Let Florida know killing the inconvenient has economic consequences.

Heck, I'd like to retire there myself! It would be great to have an ocean/gulf warm enough to actually swim in!

I have a home in Albuquerque, and although it is a fairly good-sized city, it rarely gets above 100 degrees there. The Rio Grande River seems to add a little humidity to the Valley but one can still use a very inexpensive watercooler to cool a large home. The Southern New Mexico mountains may be okay for me but I find the Central and Northern mountains in the State are just too cool. I love the Chihuahuan Desert but it's a matter of one's tastes and sensabilities. You possibly should plan a summer trip to say, the Red River or Taos areas of Northern New Mexico. These areas are very beautiful but, as I said, are landing sites for west coasties.

Gives a new urgency to the saying "Be kind to your children. They will choose your nursing home."
Or method of demise.

I will be in Florida next week looking at this view off of my balcony and I can't wait to get out of this snow.

This thing is not only in FL, it is their national agenda.
