I decided years ago to never again cross west of the Mississippi River unless it was an emergency. The decay of our society is just too far advanced on that side of the petri dish.

Some of the eastern states are pretty putrid, too. You must be in the south. I don't know if there are any safe, family values states left, east or west.

If I were raising young children, I don't know which state I would want to live in. I know I wouldn't stay where I am now unless I could afford to live in a smaller town and raise kids in a middle-class lifestyle.

This might sound odd, but I wouldn't want to be filthy rich and raise kids for a lot of reasons.
