It is a topic we have done before (yet again!!!) but who couldn't use a little relaxing, fluffy conversation?
What is something that you do, just for you? Occasional manicure? Six-pack of Guinness? Annual hunting or fishing trip with Dad? A nice, long soak in a nice, hot tub? Antiquing?
Is there any indulgence you would like, if time and money allowed? A trip to Europe, perhaps, or piano lessons?

Throughout nearly all of 2003 and well into 2004, I would sit on a barstool for an hour almost every Sunday afternoon, nurse a pint, and enjoy a good conversation with the bartender, Jimmy. Not just any bartender--
my bartender. The perfect bartender, and I'm not kidding. Then he up and leaves me. Not for another bar, mind you--for another profession. The
bastard! I spent the latter half of 2004, nursing pints all through the tri-county area, in a desperate attempt to find a replacement for Jimmy. I gave up around Christmas.
sigh I really enjoy scrounging through junk shops, the junkier, the better. My kids like it as well, so I generally take one or two of them with me--occasionally all five of us will go.

You've gone and made me nostalgic for the time we spent in Fort Knox!

Gardening! I've been building rock retaining walls, improving the soil, putting in a sprinkler system. All this took about two years. This year, I plant!

A pedicure while thumbing through the latest fashion/beauty mags. I usually don't make it through the mags though...I fall asleep!

2-3 hours every Friday afternoon........sometimes we do lunch, but often we go out after we eat lunch home. Nothing fancy, just a couple of hours chatting with folks, sipping cold beers, playing NTN trivia, and pretending we don't turn back into parents very soon.
For the second week in a row we don't get the indulgence this afternoon........last we because she was home with a stomach virus, and this week because we are attending the annual awards ceremony at school. last year she received it for reading, this year it is for math.

I had my first pedicure of the spring season. The feet soak while I sit in a chair with a multiple pulse function and a heat setting. Aside from the fact that I am a 10 on the ticklish foot scale, it's an amazing experience, and includes a hot wax dip that leaves the feet baby soft. Now my feet are ready for sandals. (Life's little plesaures.)

Cause you never know what your gonna find.... I love them myself..
My indulgence is reading, you name the author I have most more than likely read at least one book
but as I hang my head in shame, my favorite reads are trashy romance novels, the trashier, the better

Summer is finally coming to Cape Cod. The herring are running which means the stripped bass will be near the shore soon. Whenever the Missus and I have an afternoon off together we pack the truck with a cooler, grill, and fishing gear then drive onto the beach and do a whole lot of nothing. Nothing beats sitting on the beach in the sun with a beer in one hand and a smoke in the other.
My screen name is chapin as in Chapin beach and 2500 as in Chevy Silverado 2500.

Hi Everyone!
You know, I have never been able to get into trashy romance novels! I had a good friend in high school who was a devoted collector. I love a good mystery or just about anything else.
Our favorite indulgence, hubby and me, is having friends over and sitting around the fire pit cooking a steak drinking really cold beer and having good conversation. It is hard to find time for that anymore.

I'm probably a little decadent with my indulgences. For example, today I'm taking a day of vacation with no "must do" items on the list. (A few "should do" items.)
When I grocery shop, a job I don't particularly enjoy, I buy a small package of really good chocolate, such as the Mon Ami with hazelnuts, or some Lindt chocolates.
I take meds that prohibit drinking alcohol, but I used to enjoy a little butterscotch schnapps now and then.
But when I really want something special, I mix up a batch of brownies with pecan pieces, like Mom used to make!

Nothing beats sitting on the beach in the sun with a beer in one hand and a smoke in the other. And the fishing rods in sections of pvc!!!!
Because my husband works on Sundays, my mother's day present is to spend the Saturday before doing exactly what you described.........and I insist hubby leave his cell phone at home so work can't reach him :)
