Well, we will figure it out. I'll take some pictures and mail some grass to cowtown if necessary. It's definately walk as you eat pasture grass though.
I thoughtyou were going to be heading to Beckys one time for a vacation..........or did I get that wrong?
Did yall see that link Becky posted with swivel stirrups? I'm thinking about trying them but look at the item below. It made me laugh.
No - you're right... we were going to be down there to go riding... was going to be next week actually, or this week, I don't remember. We had to cancel. The trip to Arizona was so much work with finding a sitter that we felt a little daunted by trying to find one for an even longer two week trip... and we decided that $$$ wise, our priority had to be getting the horse trailer. Any trip would easily pay for half a trailer, no matter how frugal we tried to make it. So we cancelled. And we have a trailer. So I have to be happy about that.
It's only postponed though... I want to go down there sometime :~D
Post a link to it if you still have it.
Well getting a trailer that you can use whenever you have the truck sounds like the best plan. When the time comes for you to travel, things will fall into place. : )
We have had nothing but rain for the past two days. It is still hot, and I am glad the pastures are getting some water, but the kids are wanting to get out on their bikes etc. You can only do so much craft and painting!
I am going to be off here for a bit as Jacob wants to go on Nickjr.com. So I am going to load the dishwasher and grab a book. It's really time for the afternoon feed, but The heavens are flooding so I am waiting for it to die down a bit. : D
Oh, nearly forgot to say Thankyou for the new thread! : )

Hey, I can't control him. He's in rare form today, huh?
You got that right! : D

You mentioned that your horse ran down hill and you took a fall.
Do No try to turn a horse in a circle on a downhill. That will cause the horse to slip and possible fall with you under the horse. I have done a lot of x country and event riding on thoroughbreds. The best way to do hills is face then straight down and half halt at the top . Make sure the horse is listening. Then ask him to go forward
and you shove your legs forward and lean back. That sets your seat deep in the saddle and gives you leverage when the horse tries to go fast. Also You won't get dumped. Make the horse literally sit on his rump if the hill is very steep and take baby steps down the hill. Do not let the horse turn sideways , Very dangerous since they can slip if a dispute between rider and horse happens.
If the horse is facing straight down he can only fall on his butt and no harm done.
Make sure the horse is on the bit and does not have his neck stretched out. Then this horse is in no danger and takes the hill slowly. Once he is obedient you can go faster but allways sit back. If he bucks , you won't fall over his neck.
I have trained horses to do 60 an 80 degree slopes at walk , trot and gallop. It can be done.
Ok. Check your email in a minute.
