You are a cynical phoney.

Your kids aren't proud of you...they're afraid of you.

I've seen human losses not mourned that long.

Well, as I have said, you have left me speechless.....

What alternative are you proposing? Should the father that committed a crime, not be punished for the good of society? Should the good of society trump other aspects of our lives?

Compassion one thing blubbering for an extended period of time over a dog is another. So if this kid witnesses a murder ( which he did not in this case by definition ) instead of maintaining his bearing and maybe assisting or witnessing to the police he should just start crying and keep on doing so for several hours. I hope he doesn't start watch the news and seeing all the death and mayhem that happens around the world he will be incapacitated for life.

For those that want to pass a judgement on my compassion go ahead but you know not of what you speak, I am not arguing that dad did a good thing or even a bad thing, it was reprehesible, but I am commenting on a 16 year old boys extended mourning of the death of the puppy.

son was still screaming and crying in the parking lot after they arrived.

The father had to be in a furious rage, in order to fling the puppy into the air like that. I'm sure the boy was petrified of his father and I wouldn't blame him for "screaming and crying" in the face of anger like that, even if the dad hadn't killed the puppy.

OK,
question....
What if it was a 16 year old girl who was still crying?

Is it the action (tears) or the gender of the actee (boy) that bothers you so much?

You do not know my kids so keep your opinion of them to yourself.

Wow a phoney for not being overly concerned about the death of a dog.

Hey I ran over a squirrel by accident last month should I have stopped and gave it a funeral.

Mebby it's because Dad has been a Monster-brute the kids entire life. Mebby the 'puppy' incident is minor compared to some of the other crap Dad dished out in the past.

The hysteria could be indicative of long term abuse (hey, but what do I know ;) )

I live on a farm. I treat my animals very well, but sometimes they die and I have taught my kids to expect that out of life. Stuff happens. You either dwell or move on.

For those that eat meat have you ever been to a processing plant. Do you cry for your hamburger? The cattles' death is a little more violent than that of the dog. ever seen how cickens are processed? Do you cry over you hot-wings?

and keep on doing so for several hours

btw, there's nothing in the story to indicate that several hours passed until the police arrived.

I wil admit I am somewhat gender biased. Girls have more latitude but I still would question a 16 year old girl screaming so long after the act.

Maybe the "screaming and crying" wasn't so much mourning as it was the result of an adolescent having been forced to face a deep and seething hatred toward his father, which this latest episode only served to bring to a boil. Maybe this "screaming and crying" is the only thing that keeps the 16-year-old chip-off-the-old-block from flying into an uncontrolled rage and killing his dad.

It's just another theory.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were the case, ya know?

"Compassion one thing blubbering for an extended period of time over a dog is another."

See my tag line?

I "blubbered" for about two weeks...

It's too bad that you will never know or experience the special gift of friendship an animal will bring.

Perhaps this 16-year-old mourned the loss of something that his father hadn't given him for sixteen years.

Balto will be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge, but if you pass there first, I won't scold him for taking a bite of your ass...
