Kate Hudson: Monogamy Unrealistic

Kate Hudson says monogamy is tricky business – but she's still faithful to her hubby.

The Almost Famous Oscar nominee, hot on the promotional trail for her new thriller, The Skeleton Key, opines that marital fidelity isn't practical – though some folks can pull it off.

"I don't believe (monogamy) is realistic," Hudson, 26, tells TV's Access Hollywood. "But, I believe that we, as people, have the power to make it happen."

Hudson – who married Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson on Dec. 31, 2000, and welcomed their son, Ryder, Jan. 7, 2004 – was quick to add: "I will not disrespect my husband and stray."

Asked if she believes Robinson has remained true to her, Hudson answered: "If you focus your attention on that, then you are always wondering if your husband or men are out there cheating on you. ... If for some reason, that's what he has to go do, I just don't want to know. As long as things are good in our house, just please, don't get caught."

Just last September, while shooting Skeleton Key in New Orleans, Hudson told PEOPLE about the state of her marriage in the wake of the arrival of Ryder: "We're sharing something so gigantic now. I think it's the best we've ever felt being together."

If I were married to Grizzly Adams Jr., I wouldn't think so, either. ;)

Planet of the Apes came immediately to my mind.

I always chuckle when Hollywood types gush over how in love they are. It's like everyone else in the world knows how they'll end up.

Isn't "pulling it off" a sin, too?

I guess Ms. Hudson is trying to rationalize Mr. Robinson's
indiscretions.

Translation for those who don't live in Hollywood: Her husband has cheated already.

Why does Hollywood bother to marry? And what's more reproduce? Just imagine the kind of morals that kid is going to grow up with.

And why is that guy so damn ugly?

If she wasn't Goldie Hawn's daughter you would never have seen her face. She has no talent and isn't even particularly attractive.

Einstein should realize that 'if we have the power to make it happen' ("as people"), then it is in fact 'realistic.'

"I don't believe (monogamy) is realistic,"

It would be easier to say: "I'm a ho", lest anyone misunderstand her.

Men are by their nature non-monagamous.

Its sad but the vast majority of Hollywood marriages that last are the ones from 40+ years ago.

Uh... no it's not. You are either faithful, or your not.

I love advice on 'how things are out there' from people who make their living pretending to be other people. How detached from reality can one possibly be?

Holly-weird folks must be space aliens.
