His legacy will live on through the superstar recording artists he produced or promoted during a career that started when Clovis, New Mexicos Norman Petty took him under his wing and introduced Ray to the music industry. Petty, who also introduced Buddy Holly to the world, mentored Ray Ruff who achieved countless gold and platinum records for the artists he produced and promoted.
The Texas native contributed greatly to the careers of Pat Boone, Glen Campbell, Don & Phil Everly, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, Buck Owens, George Strait, Marty Robbins, Ray Price, Hank Williams Jr. and hundreds of other music makers.
