Oh, I've already been presented with a squirrel! Thankfully, he hadn't eaten half of it ~ he'd just given it one of those famous terrier head shakes and snapped it's furry little neck!

BTW, I think he has been replaced as top mouser in the yard though ... this weekend we saw a large Coopers Hawk swoop down and snag one of the mice....he then flew up to branch right outside our window and devoured it. Now he thinks the yard is his and spends the day perched just above the "mouse patch"! Since Saturday morning when we first spotted him, I've seen him make two more kills and several misses. I also saw him take a bath in my birdbath which was really cool to see!

Luckily this particular hawk isn't big enough to be threat to my little terrier, but with fall setting in I have to really be on the lookout for the larger ones who migrate thru this area. They can and would do my little guy some real damage if they put their mind to it.
