Why we should hate Perot more each day

Posted on 11/08/2005 7:40:44 PM PST by NorthEastRepublican

Just my take

We should hate Perot more each day. As we all know Bush would have won in 1992 had it not been for Perot. Aside from the horrible presidency of Clinton, he reshaped politics. Clintons win allowed the Democrats to solidify some blue states allowed the Dems to make some states blue. For example NJ, CA, IL, WA, OR were all Republican states until Clinton. Even areas in NY like Westchester and Long Island were all Republican but have become dem because of Clinton. Clintons presidency took away some states from us and we can all point our fingers at Perot.

You have to get over it. It sucked. It was a mistake. It was 13 years ago, we can't change it, and the lesson was learned.

We should hate Perot more each day.

Can not blame Perot for running that is America, but we sure can blame many voters for being dumb that day.

Yes we can and should blame Bush. Although I was only 4 at the time, I can look back now. Bush was never a conservative he was a pro-abortion RINO from CT that was an adopted native of TX.

You have to get over it.

Exactly. The economy is what sunk Bush Sr. Whether he could have affected it or not by policies. Perot was the protest, pro-business vote that felt ignored. A candidates policies should be directed at small business, entreupenuers, church going people, and seniors. These people, in order, create jobs, create better services, are morale, and worry about their end of life. And they all vote. Do you think crackheads are lining up at their local school to vote?

Perot was a good candidate and would have stood a chance if he hadn't kept pulling out of the race.

Why not just blame Reagan for choosing Bush as a running mate? Or 41 for running a crappy campaign? Or, better yet, the dumbasses who voted for Ross?

George HW Bush was pro-life as VP and pro-life as President.

Well if the republicans don't step up to the plate in the next couple of years you'll have somebody new to hate.

That's sore loser talk.

Perot isn't responsible for the fact that Clinton still polls high. The American people bought what BJ was selling, and continue to do so.

Yes thats true but he was pro-choice before that from what I have read. I may be wrong because I was not alive then but Bush was a NE Republican who was pro-abortion and became pro-choice only to win the GOP nod.

There was no FreeRepublic back then.

The Enemedia had full control of the news.

Day after day we were pounded with, The Homeless, the Disadvantaged, the Economy, its a shambles, we will not be able to afford bread.

The propanganda was obscene, I stopped watching Leno forever because of that election.

The thing about the elder Bush is he does love his country, I have no doubt of that, and much more than Clinton and Perot combined.

Bush was pro-choice in the primary, before he joined the Reagan ticket.

You can say what you will about Perot, but the man obviously loves his country and is a patriot.

You can castigate him for being politically naiive, inexperienced and stubborn. You can call him a dingbat. You can call him egocentric.

But you cannot say he does not love his country. He served in uniform, and he supported our men in uniform and our POW's when that support was sorely lacking in our country.

This man thought so as well. He is one of my personal heroes, and if he thought Perot loved his country and wanted only the best for it, then I defer to his judgement.
