I'm thankful for the friends I have met here at Free Republic.

Besides being my sanity during the elections and the political dueling, you are the best place to learn about what's going on in the world. When I hear something on the news - I like to come here to read the various viewpoints.

I also am thankful for the those of you who bring me laughter with your quick wit and great attitudes.

Thank you all for your knowledge, your support and FRiendship.

I'm thankful that the "Captain of the USS Oldsmobile" (I stole that from someone) isn't my senator.

I am thankful that 20 years ago, Jesus Christ reached into the quagmire of my life of drug addiction and alcoholism and picked me up, cleaned me off, and gave me a new life.

I am thankful for my wife of 15 years, who loves me even when I'm a jerk. She could have done much better than me, and I could have done a heckuva lot worse than her.

I am thankful for my precious 14 year-old duaghter who has not once disgraced her father or her home. She is the jewel in my eyes and the beat in my heart. No one could love a child more.

I am thankful for our daughter who will be born any day now. We tried for years to have another baby, and just when we had given up, we found that my wife was pregnant. We are going to call her Rebekah Joy, but right now we just call her our Christmas present from God.

I'm grateful for lots of people and information here at FR, especially the easy access to Mark Steyn's columns. Especially this excellent one, with the terrific sentence beginning the sixth paragraph. You're welcome.

I am thankful my husband's company has given him a promotion and a transfer out of Louisiana! We are moving in 2 weeks!

I too am thankful for FR, for providing me with adult conversation during my days as a stay at home mom of little girls. If it weren't for you guys, I'd have to join play groups or some other kind of mind twisting punishment, and we all know that I could not tolerate it. So, thanks.

I am thankful that I have a loving husband who supports me even though I have been sick and difficult to deal with at times.

I am thankful that my children are healthy and brilliant, polite and thoughtful, and empathetic even to the world's smallest creatures.

And I am thankful I live in America, where I am free to be creative, to say what I want, to not have to hide my emotions, and to be able to wear what I want. ; )

And I am thankful to all of our troops who support us each and every day, even during the holidays when the rest of us are relaxing and having a good time with friends and family.

I'm thankful for the strength I have to stand by my the convictions.

I'm thankful for my work ethic that has afforded me the blessings I have today.

I'm thankful for the amazing mentors I've had in my life.

As for me, I'm thankful for my family, and this year, I have a second family of wonderful people who leave me very thankful.

I too am thankful for the FRiends I've met here at Free Republic. This is a great place to come and learn, share and get away from work.

I'm also thankful that we have such a great man as President, running this country and fighting off terror. I'm grateful he looks to God for answers and not to other politicians and the public for popularity.

I'm also grateful I live in a wonderful FREE country and that I have friends and family close by to share the holidays with.
