Galactica Star: Bush would Nuke Adama (Hollywood Barf)
TV Guide

Posted on 12/28/2005 10:50:47 PM PST by Der_Hirnfänger

In the latest TV Guide (Jan 2nd-Jan 8th, 2006) with Anthony LaPaglia and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio on the cover, there is an interview with Edward James Olmos (who plays Commander Adama) and Mary McDonnell (who plays President Roslin).

The new Galactica is one of the better shows on TV, and one that is appointment TV for me. I was digging the interview until the very last question:

TV Guide: How do you think BSG will end someday?

Olmos: They should find Earth. When they land, they'll be hapy they found it. They'll walk off teh sip and they'll get nuked. One of the commandos will turn to President Bush and say "The aliens have been defeated."

Note to self: don't read interviews with the stars of shows you love.

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is in that show? Really? I thought the actress who played Ro Laren in Star Trek was Adama's boss (judging by voice memory alone). I think the show a little too black for my tastes.

Mary Elizabeth was on the cover of the TV Guide, she's joining the cast of "Without A Trace"

Michelle Forbes (nee ensign Ro) showed up as Admiral Cain (Lloyd Bridges she ain't, hehe) and started bossing Adama around, yup.

It's token bush-bashing that annoys me the most. If it came from a character on a show, and the statement grew out of the character, then hey, whatever. (Six Feet Under for example), but now just about every Law & Order bashes Bush/Republicans in the most tossed-off token ways from people like street detectives and beat cops who are about the least likely to think these things. NBC's of course is where Law & Order resides. Next thing you know, they're going to come out with some Christian Bashing show co-starring Jesus who will be played by the guy who shot Wild Bill on Deadwood then later showed up as a sexual-psychopath on the same show where he brutally murdered some high-class prostitutes.

Oh wait...

One of the commandos should trowel some spackle into Olmos' pock-marked puss.

Then they should land in Mexico and walk across the border. No one would stop them.

How anyone can find this show entertaining is beyond me. It's boring and droll.

That's odd, because the last time I checked it was the best show on television.

Hold on, let me check again. Yep, I'm right.

I actually like the new Battlestar Gallactica, but I wouldn't shed any tears if that pockmarked PC turd Olmos got nuked. As long as we still get to see the hot Cylon babes, I'd do a little happy dance.

Maybe this show should be called Battlestar Galaxative. Heh heh.

Anyway, the old BG, which premiered in 1978, was a very pro defense show, as I recall. The original president was a weak willed Jimmy Carter type who trusted his enemies and ended up getting his people attacked and killed.

When I hear stuff like this I always remember listening to the commentary track on the Alien vs. Predator DVD.

At one point in the commentary the actress who plays the smart, sexy, warrior woman asks Lance Heinrichsen, without the slightest trace of sarcasm, if "retrofit" is a real word, or if they just made it up.

The abject stupidity of the acting profession is truly a wonder to behold.
