Fuel cell motorcycle unveiled in Tokyo
Wednesday February 1, 2006 9:02 AM EST - By: T.O. Whenham Via: Jalopnik
If youre itching to own a fuel cell vehicle, you might not have to wait as long as you thought or spend as much as you expected. As long as you dont mind riding a motorcycle, that is. British company Intelligent Design has unveiled the ENV, a hydrogen powered motorcycle, at the Tokyo Fuel Cell Expo this week. It looks a bit futuristic and not necessarily in a good way, but you wouldnt buy this thing for looks. You would buy it because you love the environment and you like the fact that the ENV is completely silent when it runs. Youd also buy it because you like the fact that the fuel cell can be removed and taken into the house to power your computer, TV or granola maker.
If you are sold on the ENV and want one of your own you still have an 18 month wait ahead of you. When they are available, though, it should cost you less than $10,000.
Unnngh.

I'd hit it.
Where did the get the seat design? Bought the "elephant tampon" patent from Buell?
Where's the rest of it?
I can jsut hear the high-tech 1% crowd brag, 'Loud stators save lives!'
No way I'd ride that in traffic.
ROFLMFAOWPMP!!!!!!
They must mean pesos or yen????
It doesn't say how fast it can go.
Granola maker....rofl!!!
Acceleration 0 20 mph in 4.3s (32kph)
0 30 mph in 7.3s (48 kph)
0 50 mph in 12.1s (80kph)
Top speed 50 mph (80kph)
(note: ENV has been tested to 50mph however, with further refinements and redevelopments, this top speed is expected to be exceeded)
Range At least 100 miles (160km)
If you are a real biker, please do your biker duty and knock anybody who you see riding this POS off their bike.
I like the design though. If they could get it in either an internal combustible form or get this thing to go faster, I'm in.
>>I'd hit it.
With a sledgehammer?
Wound-up rubber bands might improve the performance. Probably improve the range too.
I'll pass!
It's a prototype, but looks interesting.
Moped
Looks like a modified mountain bike.
