Wow, been awhile since we had a RING-PING, LOTR as a musical? hmmm. Could be interesting, especially the dancing dwarves and singing ring wraiths.

Well apparently they have excellent scenic design, and they have a year or two to 'fix' the writing, music, and acting in this 'out-of-town' tour, and we know they have great source material, so there is reason to hope that this will end of being a good show! The endorsement from a member of the Tolkien family indicates that they are so far keeping to the heart of TLOTR, which is good.

The money spent on the production probably means they have done a reasonable job on special effects. I wonder how they are handling 2-3 foot tall Hobbits and 3-4 foot tall dwarfs -- perhaps they have used actual 'little people' as in the Wizard of Oz?? That is the impression I get from the picture.
