Tony -- in the US, for the most part, and certainly in "red" state cities, we don't have rampaging 'youths' terrorizing people on buses.

Americans, particularly now, have a profound impatience with miscreants, and a willingness and propensity to 'kick your a$$' if you act out like that.

Other countries call us 'cowboys' and think it an insult. It's a badge of honor compared to being quoted in a paper as saying "I ran away for fear of getting involved or hurt."

It's why an American airplane will NEVER be hijacked by a group of passengers again. Ever.

It's part of being American -- a Yank, if you will -- that others don't get, and we treasure.

I know the difference between inner cities and those areas outside inner cities.

And let me let you into a secret they exist in Europe as well.

You have city crime we have city crime.

And there is not much difference between the two.

If you want to compare, compare city with city, slum with slum.

Tony lives in England. Open daylight muggings are common in London. My brother's roommate got attacked in broad daylight in or around a subway, beaten and robbed. Similar attackers.

Ever been on a bus in a big city almost anywhere in the U.S. when school gets out? RIOTS READY TO HAPPEN with one wrong stare, one wrong move, eye contact not solicited.
Most of the passengers either immediately start reading or close their eyes as if napping.

It'll get worse. It's just a matter of time.
