Portugal did not deserve to win against England and Netherlands.

Happy to see Brazil out of the tournament and France into the semis. France will easily beat Portugal and access the final. Italy-Germany is a 50-50 for either one to advance to the final, but I would have to give Italy the edge as Nesta and the two red-carded players will re-enter.

My prediction for the final: Italy-France 2-0.

Forza Azzurri!

Just got home.

WOW!!! What a game!!

Pure class today from France. They were better then Brazil everywhere on the pitch. Zidane was magnificent.

The back 4 of Sagnol, Thuram, Gallas, and Abidal were magical. Nothing was going to break that line today, and especially with two destroyers like Vieira and Makalele in front of them, it's no wonder Brazil had so few scoring chances.

Ribery and Malouda worked hard on the wings, and Ribery looks to be the future of French soccer. The guy has more heart in his little frame then the entire Brazilian team put together did.

Ronaldinho was invisible today.

So much for the "World" part of the Cup. It's an all-European Final Four, sort of like if the ACC had all four schools in the NCAA basketball Final Four.

Ahem, it was the SEC that had two teams in the Final Four this year. Not an ACC team in sight.

Well, yeah, but sometimes South America sneaks two teams into the World Cup too. Your point?

'I hope they replace Eriksson now.'

He was leaving anyway. Unfortunately, he is being replaced by his assistant, who has been helping him make all the wrong decisions.

I'm just bragging on the best conference in all of college sports, the Mighty SEC :)

Few shots on the goals by the Brazilians? Please.... They played a terrible game.

France cannot beat Germany, it is an impossibility. You are betting on the wrong team here if you think the frogs are going to win the World Cup in Germany. When they played Brazil I gave them a 60% chance of winning not because they are better than Brazil but because the Brazilians have just a historical psychological problem overcoming the frogs. On the other hand France has the same problem beating Germany in a World Cup in fact France has a problem beating any Power house soccer nation except Brazil, which kind of odd because most teams in the world have problems beating Brazil.

Brazil will always remain the best soccer nation on the planet and the record clearly shows it. There is always another time for Brazil and another opportunity to win yet another world cup, so far they have five and they will have their sixth and seventh.

Europe will now equalize South America record in winning world cup, they are just catching up, so they do not have a superior soccer to the South Americans, none what so ever.

Brazil soccer team has more fans around the world than all the Europeans soccer power houses teams combined. After all they have five world cup, and they produced the best players in the world.

produced = produce, since it is a continuous thing they do by producing the best players in the world.

Speaking of the ol mighty SEC

Today I broke out my old Choke at Doak t-shirt (94) to help paint the church. It showed a tie around a gators neck in celebration of our comeback from 31-3 to tie you guys. No one here in Oregon has any clue what it means. In fact the Pastor spent 15 minutes examining it in hopes of guessing correctly.

I agree.

Never said they weren't.

Thanks for all the pictures.

The 'best team on the planet' got their arses handed to them by France in three World Cups. France will conquer the Krauts to reclaim their World Cup. The samba boys can watch it on the television.

You can have the National Championship in basketball. We're more than happy with our National Championship in football, not to mention the one we had in baseball last year.

'France cannot beat Germany, it is an impossibility. '

It was apparently an impossibility for them to beat Brazil in two of the last three World Cups...

Ze Roberto is still banned. He may play again in the game for the 3rd place or - we don´t hope that - in the final.

What a BS!! DE ROSSI is still banned. He got his red card in the game against the US and was banned for four more games. And maybe Nesta can´t play because of his injury.
