Superman Returns(A Vanity and a review and a spoiler or two)

OK I usually dont bother making movie reviews but hey its a weekend and I have nothing better to do.

First off this is trully one of the best if not the best Superman movies ever made, not that previous editions didnt make it easy. Brandan Routh carried himself very well and I felt little continuity problems between him and Reeve's, at times in fact you would have thought it was Reeve's himself standing there. Kevin Spacey was born for the role as Lex Luther at times you felt the true evil that Lex Luther really was in the comic books as with the humor that previous movies and Gene Hackman himself did so well, I would say I liked Spacey far better though. (Spoiler)

The movie was far darker than any iterations of the movies before, and being the fan of Superman I even teared up alittle when I thought they actually killed him off.

(end spoiler)

The way they did the story was far better than what I read on the internet, and at times although some of the religious aspects of it were in your face, it didnt leave me insulted or anything. I would say though its a question to me whether you should bring anybody less than 13 in to see this movie, it really isnt kiddy fare but older kids and adults of any stripe should love this movie.

Movie Reviewer extraordinare I am not, but the movie was good and I would recommend it to anybody. Its one of those few Hollywood fares of late that doesnt feel like you wasted your money.

Oh and did I mention the theater I went to had the Spiderman 3 preview trailer...it looks awesome.

We saw the 3D version of the movie last night at IMAX.

DO NOT MISS THE 3-D version which is about 10% in 3D.
Compared with 3D animations, and others, it was well-done.

I read the book.
It read like "Superman: The Movie" with a different target for Luthor and a different beginning.

"What is the one thing they aren't making any more of?"
"Land."

Dont know.
But the Shuttle-airplane crash scene and the underwater-Fortress-of-Solitude Scenes
were in 3D, and it was very impressive when the plane was at zero-G and some of the floating objects
appeared 6 inches from our eyes.

nah...pass... WHy?

cause I stand for "truth, justice and all that stuff"...

kiss my a## Hollywood liberals.

I think we should start making them pay with their pocketbooks every time they pull this cr#p.

you've got "free speech" pal.... I've got free choice. You decide that the "American way" isn't good enough for the man of steel... I feel that I can wait or delay until the dvd version is on sale...or not see this at all... afterall it's just "entertainment"....
