I'm beginning to get real concerned about Germany winning this one. I think the Germans in the stands are too.

"English footballers don't dive"

Thing is plenty of fans over here believe that diving came in here when foreign players arrived.
Francis Lee was diving for Manchester City and England in the '60s. He used to fall over when he was the only guy in that half of the field.

Italy on top; but I don't think Germany will crack.
Forza Deutschland!

So far Italy is playing better, but with Germany the game is never over until the referee blows the last whistle.

I've seen it all before.
Italy battered Germany in one of the group games in 1996. Italy needed to win, Germany a draw.
Italy got a pen, Germany played an hour with 10 men.
Result: 0-0.

Germany on pens. Again.

Italy has created several very good chances and more importantly has shown an ability to go right at the defense and make very dangerous situations.

Germany has created one very good one which of course can be the difference if executed.

But those big physical guys are not going to get better deeper into the match.

To: Rummenigge

I like your user name, yes Rummenigge was a great player. Some of the most memorable moments of his are his goal against France in the semi finals during the overtime period and his goal against Argentina in the 1986 final.

And now a yellow on a foul from directly behind Totti. Well done.

Italy has impressed so far.

Germans have underwhelmed.

Diving that would put Christiano Ronaldo to shame. No fair play by not giving the ball back to Italy, when Cannavaro was down. Booing the Italian national anthem.

Go Italy.

The German nachspiel should take place in the Bronze game.

Both teams are turning into melodramatic girls. Expecting a slap fight to break out at any moment now...

Booing the Italian national anthem.

That's shabby.

"Booing the Italian national anthem"

Sadly that's something the muppets who support England have been doing for years.
This is the first time I've noticed German fans doing it but its revolting nonetheless.

Halftime, Italy definately got off to a better start, but the Germany looked better towards the end. It's anybody's match.

That's sad. Been to a couple of Germany games and seen 100s over the years and its never happened in the past.
Trying to emulate their Wembley cousins no doubt.
Obnoxious.

Germany with the crowd needed more to establish something early.
They didn't.

Advantage Italy.
