Your not the only one. I brake for all wildlife crossing the roads. Watched a 16 year old girl run over one of my cats and continue on to her house without ever even slowing down. I picked up the flattened cat and walked down to her house and knocked on the front door. Her mother answered the door and I told her that her daughter could bury the cat she just ran over. I laid it on her nice white wicker chair and walked away. Funny, they don't wave to me anymore...

I have heard some say that they never brake or swerve for animals on the road because it is unsafe to do so.
Of course, any driver who cannot consistently safely execute such a basic evasive manuver has no business behind the wheel.
