It seems that the lessons Alfred Hitchcock taught us in cinema are lost on the 'enlightened'. Nothing is as graphic, as scary or as sensuous as our imagination.

Psycho is, and continues to set the standard; yet Hitchcock didn't need to make a 'slasher' flick.

If a rape of a child was required for a movie (and I can't imagine why it would be); the camera fade out would be far more dramatic than the actual violent act itself.

You're not kidding!

I just saw Hitchcock's "The Birds" for the first time since I was seven (I'm now 46).

Now I remember why I couldn't watch the end and had nightmares for months!
