Yeah...Ty Cobb, the second greatest player in history, didn't hit too many HRs. BUT, HRs don't hurt. Cobb played in the dead-ball era when home runs were rare. Even Ruth had few HRs before 1920 when the live-ball era began, but both hit with power and had high averages.
