You're right. Race is not implied, it is directly denoted.
The Iranian whispered: ''My son watches this show 'Star Trek' and in it there is Chekhov who is Russian, Scotty who is Scottish, Uhura who is Black, and Sulu who is Chinese, but no Arabs. My son is very upset and doesn't understand why there aren't any Iranians, Syrians, or Iraqis on "Star Trek."
President Bush laughed, leaned toward the Iranian ambassador, and whispered: ''It's because it takes place in the future.''
In the short term, I agree. The best current course is to eject them all to their homelands to contain the threat.
Then, hopefully, the whole sorry lot would have a reformation or collapse under the weight of reality.
But if that does not happen, we will have to deal with this abomination sooner or later. And it scares me how far back in our evolution we will have to dig if we wait too long.
And I corrected myself.
You know, I hate to be a killjoy, but isn't genocidal humor a bit much?
Also, if we are talking TNG, I think the woman who played Councilor Troy was of Iranian decent. Could be wrong on that though.
But before you condemn me, keep in mind that this is exactly what Islam has in mind for the world.
Disregarding the fact that certainly, this is not the view of all or even a majority of Muslims, Yes, the radical ones are, and I notice we are at war with them for it, and consider ourselves to be justified.
And we are justified. But we wouldn't be if we did the same thing they are doing.
I want my domestic tranquility back. Tired of all this security crap. Time to sweep out the trash and get back to normal living again.
I remember seeing Kavi Raz, a secondary actor on NBC's "St. Elsewhere" later play an Engineering Officer on a very early episode of ST:TNG.
I believe he was helping Wesley Crusher with a science project. Surprisingly, the Engineering Officer didn't die by the end of the episode.
Jack.
Fight atrocity with atrocity, eh?
Moslems are not a "race".
We recently borrowed the boxed sets of Babylon 5. During one very serious episode we nearly died laughing when Brian Krantz, the actor who played Hal from "Malcom in the Middle," did a guest shot as a Whitestar ship captain. He died a hero but the juxtaposition between characters was an absolute riot.
Who said anything about annihilation. They could all just convert! Islam is a behavior, not a birth defect.
ROTFLMAO!
Yes it is. Muahahahaha!
Both? Ya think? What an optimist.
It took 34 posts to get the truth. The Iranian is shown to be clueless as to the modern world.
The good Doctor Bashir was intended to fill racial slot of Arab/Muslim. He did it well.
Moslems are either at your throat or at your feet. Better they die than us. If you cannot see that, you are on the wrong board.
Just to be accurate, Jordan's King Abdullah was on Voyager.....
