Did North Korea test a Chinese Neutron Bomb? (Vanity)

Consider the following dots:

• Kim Jong Il is utterly dependant on China. • China has had an extensive and determined program to obtain US nuclear secrets. • Los Alamos, which had a program to develop a neutron bomb, and Wen Ho Lee, “lost” a hard drive with weapons design information on it. (I’m not saying Wen Ho Lee was a spy or anything like that)… • A neutron bomb has a low explosive yield from 10 tons to 1 KT. • North Korea’s bomb had an estimated yield of 0.5 KT right in the middle of the expected range. • China has indicated that they will prevent any stringent embargo on N. Korea.

The neutron bomb is also known as the landlord’s bomb, it clears out the people and leaves the property undamaged. China, with its huge population urgently needs more lebensraum. Depopulated modern cities in surrounding and distant countries could provide a priceless pressure relief valve.

It’s not just extra bedrooms, all of the infrastructure remains intact, the shops and factories remain in a full functional state, lacking only the know how to run them. On the other hand, any facility with ISO 9000 certification has a set of fully audited and verified procedures written so that a bunch of reasonably intelligent monkeys could operate it.

China could view this a recipe for instant global dominance and prosperity. Ever since the days of Chairman Mao they have believed that they could simply endure the worst the US could do to them. Perhaps their long range plan is to simply move out until the radiation drops to safe levels?

This could bode ill for any country not down wind.

So the key question is, was the explosion in North Korea a showcase propaganda operation with conventional explosives, a failed full up nuclear bomb, or something more subtle and sinister?

Would China use North Korea as it’s cat’s paw? Yes, without a doubt.

Could Kim Jong Il refuse an opportunity to do this one little favor for his masters? Uh, NO. Add to the pot the chance to look big in the world's eyes…

I don't think China would be stupid enough to do that.

Probably not, but there is a neutron bomb thread someplace already.

Seems like we'd be able to detect the neutrons emitted. Of course, that doesn't mean that we would say so...

Some N Kor claimed it was a neutron bomb. Didn't say anything about Chinese involvement. I seriesly doubt the Chinese are helping the N Kors in any way on this.

They might do that. I bet they are wondering if they were right in the long term to help Pakistan with their bomb and missile tech a decade ago. That stuff can come back like a disease.

Neutron bombs kill with radiation. So far, there have been no reports that radiation was detected, leading some to suspect that it wasn't a nuke that was exploded.

China doesn't need lebensraum, nor does it seek to colonize SE Asia. Dominate yes, colonize no. Where do you get this stuff?

That is just plain nonsense, First of all not many countries have the Neutron Bomb, this is probably the most prized bomb within the Nuclear Family. for a fact, the Neutron Bomb is expensive to make and at the same time expensive to maintain and store, has a shorter life span than it's Nuclear Counterparts. Plus North Korea is too behind to test such weaponry, It's like trying to say North Korea is the first country to send a man into space.

And China isn't that stupid, if the North tested a Neutron Bomb the finger would immediately point to China.

Comrades, I’m very excited today, because the large-scale online survey sina.com that was done for us showed that our next generation is quite promising and our Party’s cause will be carried on. In answering the question, “Will you shoot at women, children and prisoners of war,” more than 80 percent of the respondents answered in the affirmative, exceeding by far our expectations

I'm no fan of the Chinese, but this sounds phoney to me.

Like China doesn't have the space to test it on their own soil???

Maybe on top of the most populated Uighur city?

(Kill two birds with one bomb. Test the neutron bomb... and eliminate the source of their own Islamist insurgency.)
