I'm looking for three more smart, competitive, owners for my existing 16-team, salary cap, dynasty, keeper, fantasy baseball league, which despite the offseason, is alive and kicking. In fact, I still have been spending more time on baseball than I have for either of my two football leagues. I made 5 significant trades in the three weeks following the season alone.
This is not a league for the unskilled, inactive, or ignorant. With 16 teams, 24 man active rosters, and 4 minor league spots, you need to be knowledgeable and current with your information. This is the ultimate experience to be an owner, GM, salary capologist, and manager all in one. If you think you're the best, PROVE IT by testing yourself against the best in fantasy baseball.
The owners are extremely cordial, but very knowledgeable. The fee is $35, and first prize is $200.
Below are the rules of the league. If interested in taking a no obligation look at the league, please reply.
Player Pool: AL and NL Players.
Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, DH, SP and RP.
Eligibility: Players are eligible at their primary position, plus positions they've played 20 games last year or 10 games this year. Everyone is eligible at DH.

Only players who are on the disabled list may be placed into Injured status. Only players in the minor leagues may be placed into Minors status. Add/drops are handled by a waivers process. The waivers process runs on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Dropped players remain on waivers for at least 1 day(s). Limit of 3 waiver claims per period. Trades must be approved by the commissioner. No trades can be made after the trade deadline of 11:59 PM ET 8/15/07. Owners may make trades during the offseason.

Worst team record picks first and so on. All non-keeper players' salaries will be adjusted to reflect real MLB salaries and will be adjusted right up through February 15th, 2007. Any player whose salary changes after February 15th, 2007 will not be adjusted until the following season. Any MLB players making under $1.2 million will be set to the NEW league minimum default salary of $550,000.
LEAGUE TYPE: Dynasty Keeper League (Each team allowed 12 MLB keeper players per season + 2 minors, all released players will go back into the free agent pool for next season's draft). Owners will need to submit the names of their 12 keepers (plus 2 minors) players to me via e-mail(cduran@ddmattorneys.com) no later than January 1, 2007. *** If 12 MLB keeper names list is not received by 12:01am EST January 1, 2007, there will be a -10% salary cap penalty assessed to that team for the 2007 season. PLAYER SALARIES: Player salaries are determined the following way: Total contract value / years. Example: A 5 year $40 contract will be = to $8 per year.

ACTIVE POSITIONS: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, DH, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP.
Roster Limits = Maximum # player types allowed to each team:
C: 3 1B: 3 2B: 3 3B: 3 SS: 3 OF: 7 DH: 3 SP: 7 RP: 7
ILLEGAL ROSTERS: Illegal rosters will score zero points in standings. Make sure you roster is always legal.
ERRORS: Occasionally, The Commissioner may make an error. It is the sole responsibility of the Fantasy Baseball participant to inform The Commissioner within 2 days of the end of the weekly scoring Period in which the error occurred. All effort will be made to correct the error, however the decision of The Commissioner is final.
NO PITCHER STREAMING (weekly pitcher pickup & dumps). No pitcher that is not on your roster at the beginning of the weekly scoring period can be used during that week. (Weekly scoring periods start on Monday's and run thru to Sunday night). This rule applies to all pitchers - RP and SP.
The Deadline for adding and activating a Newly added Free Agent pitcher to your roster will be Mondays 12:00pm NOON ET, any pitcher added from the Free Agent list after that time will not be eligible for that weekly scoring period and must remain in a reserve slot.
PENALTY = *** Zero points will be scored by a team for every day there is an ineligible pitcher active. ***
EXCEPTIONS: 1. This rule does NOT apply to hitters.
2. This rule does NOT apply to pitchers acquired through a trade.
3. If you lose an SP or RP to the DL, you are allowed to pickup a corresponding replacement SP or RP. The replacement for an RP, must be an RP to be eligible for the week's period under this exception. The replacement for an SP must be an SP to be eligible for the week's period under this exception. The injured pitcher must be showing on the DL in CBS, before you are allowed to replace him. At that point you can move the pitcher to the DL slot or drop them. The replacement pitcher will be permitted to start during that current week.
Remember you can still move pitchers in and out of active slots during the week as long as they were on your roster before the Monday 12:00noon ET deadline. I will be monitoring Adds as I am sure you all will be. As long as everyone handles this rule honorably we really should have no problems.
NOTE: If anyone violates the pitcher rule 3 times during the current season, you will be removed from the league, no refund will be given and a new owner will be found to take over your team. This is to impress upon you that you must be very careful to not violate this rule.
PLAYERS: 15 Active player positions, up to 9 Reserves, 2 Minors. Total roster size of 24 players + 3 DL spots + 4 Minors spots = 31 potential total players per team. If you choose to have less than 9 reserves then that is your choice to make.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: Hitters are eligible at the position listed in the database, plus positions they've played 20 games last year or 10 games this year. Everyone is eligible at DH position. Pitchers are eligible to be SP if they have 5 starts this year or last year. Pitchers are elibigible to be RPs if they have appeared as an RP 10 games this year or last year.
LINEUPS: Lineups to be set daily, commissioner to approve all trades.
TRADE DEADLINE: Trade deadline will be August 15, 2007. I will also allow offseason trades to be made.
NOTE: Teams will NOT be allowed to make trades if their team is over the salary cap limit or over the player limit. This will deter teams from going out and picking up free agent players, going over the cap limits, and then proposing trades to other owners to manipulate the system to their own advantage.
ROSTERS: Daily roster moves allowed.
WEEKLY WAIVER TRANSACTION LIMIT: Maximum 3 Waiver Transactions per week.
PLAYER POOL: AL and NL Players.
DISABLED LIST: Only players who are on the disabled list may be placed into injured status.

FREE AGENTS: Add/drops are handled by a 1 day waiver process. Dropped players remain on waivers for at least 1 day(s).

Once the playoffs are completed, Add / Drops will then be reinstated on 10/3/2006 at 12:00 a.m. EST and continue through 12/23/2006. Add / Drops will then also be restricted from 12/23/2006 until after the Draft is completed sometime in early March 2007. NOTE: Trades will be allowed throughout the offseason right up until a couple days before the draft.
PLAYOFFS: Playoffs will consist of 8 teams playing for the championship: 4 teams from the Eastern Divisions and 4 teams from the Western Divisions. Each Division winner in each conference will make the playoffs as the #1 seed and #2 seed (best record / most points if tied). The wildcard teams will be the teams with the next best overall records (best record / most points if tied) in the conference and will qualify as the #3 and #4 seeds.

Yes, I'd be happy to sign up. This sounds like an excellent league. I'll look through the procedures a little more carefully because you probably explain how to sign up -- but if not, Freepmail me with the instructions.
Great to have you aboard, Scott.
I still have one spot left, if any of you are interested.
I'll sign if the spot is still open.
Gregg (Oburg Oranges)
Thanks for thinking of me, but I can't do it... please give the spot to someone else. :o)
Ok, Gregg. Send me your email by freepmail, and I'll send you an invitation.
Still have one more spot left.
Not interested, but I may be someday. Please keep me on your ping list.

Hey Buster. This is Lee. I joined this site today in order to try and help you recruit new players. It took me about 30 minutes just to find this part of the group. So you’re absolutely right about the navigation sucking.
I will post a message on the main board just as soon as I figure out how to do that.
