Dixie Chicks refuse to leave well enough alone (Chicks Get Owned! LOL)
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | 12/01/2006 | John Hayes

"I find Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire conspiring with manager Simon Renshaw to intentionally deepen the rift separating the group from its fans. They're clearly shown planning ways to get the media to buy into the group's pleas of right-wing victimization, and trying to turn the anti-Chicks phenomenon into the band's defining element. That's it. I'm appalled. I've had it with these Chicks. The most remarkable thing about "Shut Up & Sing" is that although it's not a hostile documentary taking shots at the band, it reveals its members to be smug, arrogant and manipulative, intentionally growing the monster that cripples their career, then whining about it to the press.

FRAUDS!

The following bears repeating!

"it reveals its members to be smug, arrogant and manipulative, intentionally growing the monster that cripples their career, then whining about it to the press."

"what if they could stoke anti-Chicks sentiment and instigate CD burnings and further rejection of the Chicks by the country music audience? It's not a quip -- Renshaw says it with relish, implying that the Chicks might then be seen as free-speech heroes by the much larger mainstream music audience. You can almost hear the "ca-ching" in his voice as he lays out plans for using the incident to move the group out of the country camp and into the mainstream. "

"Throughout the 93-minute film, Renshaw and the Chicks repeatedly conspire to provoke country music fans."

"Renshaw is revealed as the Chicks' brain. In meetings, Maines blabbers and whines like the protagonist in a dumb blonde joke, while sisters Robison and Maguire are more guarded but seem willing to go along with just about anything."

""Shut Up & Sing" documents The Dixie Chicks belittling the conservative values of country fans and manipulating the media into reporting that the group is valiantly defending free speech. It's a ruse"

The best way to treat these three bleating broads is to just ignore them. Don't buy their stuff. They'll either disappear or go the way of Cindy Sheehan- another pathetic floozy who denigrates the American public for her own personal gain.

They thought controversy would work for them like it did Eminem. What they failed to realise, was that Eminem has something going for them they don't, likability. It covers a multitude of sins. LOL

As such, "Shut Up & Sing" is a fascinating fly-on-the-wall account of what may be one of the most blatant media scams in entertainment history.

At least this critic realizes it. There's no fool like a committed leftie and the Chicks have been jerking their chains and laughing.

Remember Brian Bosworth, the expensive football player that never amounted to anything? During an away game, lots of people were wearing some sort of "I hate Bosworth" t-shirt. Apparently they were on sale anywhere the Seahawks played.

The roumor was that he owned the company that produced them.

Haven't had the chance to read the full article, but does it mention the sales figures from their "movie?"

Hey Natalie, last time I had a thought of you, before this, was when my neighbor threw the disc over the cliff, and I nailed it with a 12 gauge! My sound systems will remain DC free...keep playin' stupid! I'll start listening to you when the patriots of country give you an invite...(background sound of crickets chirping...)

It's always entertaining when rabid leftists inadvertently reveal more than they mean to about their true beliefs and motivations..... the Dixie Sluts are minor talents who can't get over losing their "15 minutes" of fame due to their alienation of their audience. Now they have documented how calculating and mercenary they tried to be in executing their scams..... funny that it didn't work out the way they intended.

Maines does seem rather bimboesque.

Maines in particular comes across as being an intolerable egomaniac, with a massively inflated sense of her own importance. This entire mess has only revealed her as the vile human being she is.
