I like thunderbird but i have had no luck in getting the webmail to go out from it. Got any suggestions?

I don't know what you mean by "Webmail" in the context of Thunderbird. Webmail is accessed through your browser:

(example: http://webmail.earthlink.net ).

On the other hand, if you are talking about your outgoing Thunderbird email, click on "View Settings for this Account", and at the bottom click "Outgoing Server (SMTP)", "Add" or "Edit". Get the outgoing server settings from your local ISP and enter them where asked to.
