Prayers for this wonderful man and his family. Rest In Peace
Poor man. What a shame.
To my knowledge, Jack Tatum never apologized to him for that hit. What a POS.
Now, Daryl can run with the best of ‘em UP THERE. Him ans sweetness will make a he!! of a backfield. RIP Daryl.
Being from Massachusetts, I have had the opportunity to watch this man’s life from afar, as he occasionally popped into the public eye for various reasons.
A complete class act, as I recall. I could be mistaken, but I do believe I remember hearing him say he doesn’t harbor any bitterness towards the man who did it to him and never apologized.
Sorry. I forgot Daryl was a wide receiver. Still would be a great team UP THERE.
I remember the hit as if it were yesterday. Couldn’t watch NFL football for a LONG time after that. Remember running in a road race in Boston in the late 70’s early 80’s and Daryl was there along with other prominent figures in Boston athletics. I guess Daryl can run now (again).
