Stargate SG-1's episode "200" has been nominated for this year's coveted Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation - Short Form. The Hugo is the top award for excellence in the field of science fiction and fantasy.
This year's Hugos will be presented at the World Science Fiction Convention, September 1, 2007 in Yokohama, Japan.
The episode's competition for the prestitious award includes Battlestar Galactica's "Downloaded," and four episodes (three total nominations) from the second season of Doctor Who: "Army of Ghosts" and "Doomsday," "Girl in the Fireplace," and "School Reunion."
"200" guest stars Richard Dean Anderson ("Jack O'Neill") and Willie Garson ("Martin Lloyd"), and aired in the United States on August 18, 2006. The comedic episode includes riotous send-ups of classics including Star Trek, Farscape, and The Wizard of Oz.
