Crime is an equal opportunity employer and now an exotic dancer is wanted for murder. The LAPD wants to know -- have you seen her?

"We are speaking of a murder, somebody died," LAPD Detective Martin Mojarro says. "We believe that person and his family deserves justice."

Wanted for murder by the LAPD -- Candy Ellen Srichandr.

"She does have a criminal history," Mojarro says.

Detectives believe this 29-year-old woman is part of an infamous and violent tagging crew.

So-called taggers are graffiti vandals that spray paint their signature scrawl all over Southland buildings, billboards and overpasses, defacing public property for recognition from rival crews.

This Van Nuys detective says, like street gangs, tagging crews are now armed and should be considered extremely dangerous.

"They pretty much function the same way with intimidation and they are now considered armed," Mojarro says.

Though, instead of fighting for territory, rival crews shoot and kill for notoriety.

"It's mostly for recognition and when one is defaced by a rival tagging crew there begins a feud," Mojarro says.

May 11 of last year, reports show, Candy and her crew head to a local tattoo shop on Saticoy Street in Van Nuys for an art show.

Witnesses say at 10:40 p.m. her crew started shooting in to the crowd.

"Members of that crew arrived at the art show and pulled out hand guns and fired in to the crowd striking our victim in the head and he later died if his injuries," Mojarro says.

Though Van Nuys detectives say candy didn't actually pull the trigger, the DA's office still wants her for murder since witnesses say she knew just what was going down that night. Bail is set at $7 million.

Just where do detectives think this wanted gun-woman is hiding?

"She has been known ... to be a dancer in gentleman's clubs," Mojarro says.

Before the deadly shooting, Srichandr supported herself as an exotic dancer in Van Nuys. Police suspect she still may be dancing in another part of town.

"She may be someone's next door neighbor as we speak," Mojarro says.

So take a good luck -- and help the LAPD put this most wanted murderess where she belongs -- behind bars. If you have seen Candy Ellen Srichandr, please contact Detective Martin Mojarro of the Van Nuys division of the LAPD at (818) 374-0040, or visit lapd.com.

Nope, neither on nor off the stage.

Srichandr is a Thai-”ised” Hindu name. She looks Asian too.
