Kevin Garnett trade rumors are heating up with the temperature. The Los Angeles Times reported Monday afternoon that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and Jerry Buss, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, have begun talks for a trade that would involve Garnett going to Los Angeles. According to the Times, the deal would likely include multiple teams -- the Lakers, the Wolves, the Indiana Pacers and possibly a fourth team. The deal would put Garnett in a Lakers uniform alongside Kobe Bryant, with Lamar Odom and center Andrew Bynum going from Los Angeles to Indianapolis. It is unclear what the Wolves would get, but it's likely it would include a lottery draft pick and some young players. Because of Garnett's $22 million salary in the upcoming season, it is presumed the Wolves would also have to acquire some veterans with expiring contracts.

Well... we better hope the Lakers pull off the trade and make it to the NBA Finals in 2008...
Why? Because EVERY election year since the Lakers moved to LA from Minnesota (~1960), if the Lakers made it to the NBA Finals, the Republican candidate for President won the election. Every election year the Lakers didn’t make the NBA Finals, the Democrat candidate won.

Wouldn’t even need Artest. With a new venue, KG would be like a young player, all over again. He would get his kicks feeding Kobe all night, which would work well for Kobe, because he LOVES to shoot the ball........
The same was with the Yankees winning the WS. Accept they came back to win it in 1996 and Dole still lost.
