I work on a college campus. The alternative notion of a tat has long since passed.

Almost all of these little coeds have a tat in the small of their backs.

I've got one tat. It is not visible when I am dressed for work. But, years ago I got a taste of what the Nursing Home will be like when I was in the hospital for months following major surgery.

Each nurse wanted to know what it was, when I got it, what did it mean. All in all, I wish I hadn't gotten one now.
