Netflix is a better way to go. You couldn’t pay me to go into a Blockbuster Video store. Gum-snapping, clueless teens who always say “great choice, that’s one of my favorite movies” no matter what movie you bring to the register.

Blockbuster is known for being too expensive in the long run, as you just found out. Netflix is a much better company.

Bad move on their part. Netflix got busted a few years ago for "throttling" (delaying shipment of movies to high-demand customers), although they now have acknowledged such practice in their terms of service.

I predict that Blockbuster will get sued. You should switch to Netflix, regardless. We borrowed plenty of movies from them and have not had any problems.

I do the 2 movie at a time deal for $16 and have not been notified of an price increase. If they do increase the fee, I’m going back to Netflix.

My rate hasn’t gone up. But for new customers with that same plan, they will be charged once they exchange more than 5 movies in the store. I think the charge is something like $2 per movie over 5 exchanged.

I quit Blockbuster for Netflix just because they rent Blu-Ray discs. Its the only thing I watch now DVD wise. Also with netflix I get a 2 day turn around between return and shipping of a new movie. Thats fast.
