Duane "Dog" Chapman is upset a $300,000 federal bond remains in place even though a Mexican judge has dismissed charges against him.
The TV bounty hunter posted the bond and was freed after being arrested last September as he fought extradition to Mexico.
He had been charged under Mexican law with "deprivation of liberty" for his 2003 capture of a fugitive convicted rapist in Mexico.
Mexican Judge Jose Alberto Montes dismissed the charges last month, ruling the statute of limitations had expired.

A court in Mexico last month dismissed charges against Chapman and two associates, Tim Chapman and son Leland Chapman, in connection with the bounty hunter’s capture of now-convicted rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster. However, on Thursday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry Kurren left the bond in effect...
Chapman and his wife issued a statement yesterday saying they were “devastated” by Kurren’s decision, despite Mexico’s full dismissal of charges.
“This is unacceptable,” Beth Chapman said. “We are enlisting our fans and supporters to protest this action by our own government by calling and writing the Judge, Barry Kurren, and Attorney Ronald Johnson...”

They need to do away with the bond. And this guy needs to clean himself up. Why do they have to hang fishing lures and other sh*t on their hair? It looks absurd. I saw a picture of Keith Richards recently and noticed the same thing.
If I were a cop on my beat and saw “Dog” walking down the street in my town I’d find some reason to arrest him.
How openminded of you.
US Magistrate Judge Barry Kurren left the bond in effect.
The US Office of International Affairs in Washington opposed lifting the bond, and Assistant US Attorney Ronald Johnson requested more time to work on the case...

Strange story.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Good thing you aren't a cop. It's a shame others like you are...
Wow.. maybe you should mind your own business.
It gets stranger all the time.
“The Mexicans release him but not the US ?”
Now we prosecute Americans even if Mexico walks away......
this ADMINISTRATION seems to hate Americans!
” Just persecuting Americans even Mexico will not persecute”
You are only in danger of having your head knocked off if it rises above the level of those around you. "Dog" became visible to a group of people who don't want their job encroached upon, i.e., doing what law enforcement hasn't.
I saw him on Glenn Beck tonight and could not make sense of this.
I wonder if the US is going ahead with prosecution because he broke a law regardless of where in the world he did it.
Can (the US) they say prosecute someone on murder charges against an American citizen who murders in another country even if that country does not prosecute the American.
Dog even said in his last interview with Bethie when on LKIng that Mexican authorities have invited him back if he ever is on the hunt again just so long as he contacts them and allows their govt to apprehend the guy.
I didn’t know untill Dog mentioned it that Bounty Hunting is illegal in Oregon but you can make a citizens arrest. What is the diff? Then money a bounty hunter makes?
Assistant US Attorney Ronald Johnson requested more time to work on the case...

How someone else dresses is none of your business. He isn't dressing obscenely or outrageously. You aren't his Momma or his nanny.
He violated the laws of Mexico. He should have to pay the price just as illegals in this country should be held accountable for their crimes.
Dog is embarrassing the DOJ ?
