We've been documenting here at F.R. the now famous "Hillary Curse." For those of you new here, the "Hillary Curse" is this; no professional New York team has won a championsip in any sport since November of 2000, the date when New Yorkers saw fit to elect Hillary Clinton as their senator.
The Jets and Giants of football, the Rangers, Islander and Sabers of hockey, the Knicks of basketball, and the Yankees and Mets of baseball, all have fell under the curse by being either A) terrible, or B) good teams who lose in spectacular fashion.
The Yankees of 2003 beat the Red Sox with a Game 7 walk off extra inning home run, then got blown out in the World Series. In 2004, the Yankees were up 3-0 on the Red Sox, then had the most successful choke job in sports history by becoming the first team to lose 4 straight after being up 3-0. The Red Sox went on to win their first World Series since 1918.
Last year the Buffalo Sabres dominated the regular season, and had the best record in the NHL, but lost in the semifinals.
Today, the Mets added to the Hillary Curse. With maybe the best choke of all time, the Mets had a 7 game lead on September 17, and went on to lose 12 out of the last 14 games. Today, with the Phillies taking the N.L. East, the collapse is complete.
With the Yankees limping into the playoffs with the worst pitching staff, the Jets, Giants and Bills all stinking up the joint, its going to be a long winter for you New Yorkers.
The Gods continue to smile on New Yorkers. And yes, Hillary is looking up from that hot place down below, and smiling just a little bit, too.
Watch your six ;-)
Full Disclosure: Ever since 1969 I have had little love for the Mets. Or pretty much *any* New York team, as far as that goes. (Mets beat the Orioles; Joe Namath;...g'rrr.)

I have to disagree. The Hillary Curse can only effect the Yankees since Hillary cursed the Yankees by declaring them to be her favorite team. I don’t think you can blame the Mets or Sabres on a Hillary Curse. As for Buffalo you might on to something if we have a dare I said it...A Tim Russert Curse. LOL!
