So, with gasolene prices bobbing up and down. And the economy also bobbing! When and what will it take to get rel action n Aternative energy?Nikola tesla(1856-1943) had the answer more then a 100 years ago! That of broadcasting wirelessly eletric power! He even set up a braodcasting tower for this at Wardecylle,Long Island(Now Shoreham, L.I.) But when he mentioned FREE ELECTRIOC POWER to hs financial backer the great Robber Baron J.P. Morga. Whos meatered eletric power intreste would have been ruined. The money was removed and Tesla went into a life long debt!To honor Dr. Tesla in 2005 and 2006 I organized the GLOBAL ENERGY INDPENDENCE DAY held every July 10th the birthdate anniversary of Dr tesla. To rembewr Tesla and promote ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND FUELS,VeHICLES. See the Tesla memorial Society www.teslasociety.com And Pure Energy Systems A Community Built Alternative energy site www.Peswiki.comNikola Tesla/GloBAL ENERGY INDPENDENCE DAY. No!!!!! What is neeeded is REAL ACTIO NOW!!!! Perhaps at least a Day to rember Nikola tesla And PROMTING ALTERNATIVE ENERGY is one way to do this?

We have a 21’ sailboat we keep in the back yard (river), in the summer.

When the good weather, wind, and a day off in the summer come together, nothing beats a nice sail.

;-)

rethreads.

Mods killing off lots of repeat thread postings. Seems nobody is using "search" anymore.

"nothing beats a nice sail."

'Face may not agree, but I'll agree it's a close second. *\;-)

Color me envious.

Sailing is nice, but canoeing on a lake on a calm day is safer :-).

We have a pair of kayaks, though experience informs that "lake" and "calm day" do not comprise "safe"... not in winter. However enjoyable.

I miss the thrill of sailing into the "tongues" just in time to turn upwind and halt right along the finger (dock). Or maybe not...

Close second.
LOL.
Good point.

I have never seen the world the way you have, Sion.
If I ever get to sail the world, I’ll get back to you on that subject. Meanwhile, I think you’re lucky.
Too.

Canoeing safety depends on the dock.

Oh. WRONG, Windjammer Breath!
Nevada has the largest population of boaters per capita than any other state.

...'Face may not agree, but I'll agree it's a close second. *\;-)...

Excuse me? I've lived around water all my life! The first five years, I spent on an island; we lived so close to a lake when I was growing up that we got fog in the winter.

I've lived in Eureka CA, San Diego, the Bay Area, the Long Beach Area, and Puget Sound. I also lived on the Missouri River, the Mississippi River, and Chesapeake Bay. And here, I have Lake Mead and the Colorado River. Not to mention LOTS of other places....and I've never been sea sick!

And I DO like a good sail on a good day!

Sorry, but...

ROTFL!!

Welcome to the latest rendition of the Undead Thread, aka The Flying Castle. We welcome all comers! Of course, there are certain cautions, as with all castles, but we’ve had very few losses of personnel...lately.
