To: Tax-chick
There was a party to celebrate the incorporation of New York City (then known as New Amsterdam). The next week the city suffered massive tummy aches from spoiled coleslaw (known as koolsla in those days). That was when the last of the Actio was used up.

So it is all New York City's fault. Naturally. Or you could blame the Dutch.

Oh, I’ll blame the New Yorkers. Although the Dutch aren’t all that friendly, either, and they put curry sauce and mayonnaise on their fried potatoes.
