Do this on a large enough scale, and it will make mincemeat of all federal and state programs to track and trace ownership of specific guns. It will also be very difficult to prosecute, since it won’t be possible to identify more than one of the two parties to any swap, nor to determine whether the swap involved transporting the gun across state lines or residents of more than one state.
