Everyday I get a new offer to borrow money for 2% or less.
And those p*ckerheads want a credit card bailout, too? SCREW 'EM!!!
Dude, I can't even get people to lend me their ears.
Good luck. Perhaps a Nigerian bank will accept your terms, provided you give them your bank account and routing numbers.
I suppose the media could be looking at a resurgence of the “old school” style of financing and calling it a financial crisis. I sincerely hope they aren’t doing that.
I applied for a credit card at Home Depot today to take advantage of the 10% discount on some windows. $15,000 approved within 5 minutes (way way more than needed)
I still have banks sending offers — half point below prime stuff - credit card offers etc.
Give back your loan! IT’S A MISTAKE!!!
Haven’t applied for one recently, but I might just to check out the scene.
When you find it please Freepmail me, I could use the same.
So I go on line, start filling in all their stupid forms, reading through pages of legalese (which mostly seemed to obligate me not to complain when they stop sending me my monthly statements by mail, which I am "agreeing to" by asking for the great favor of being able to look at my bank statement on line). I give them my social security number. I pick security codes, secret questions, personal ID numbers. I type in my address (which they already have, of course). On and on.
Finally, when I hit the final "Submit" button, I'm informed that "system troubles have caused the application process to be aborted" and am told to call a phone number.
So I call the stupid number, and am in short order connected to a human being. He directs me to go through the whole process again, while he keeps track of my progress on a monitor at his end. Finally, I get through it, and I have on line banking.
Then he asks me if I would like to a credit card from the bank. It so happens that I have wanted one from this bank for some time, but didn't think I'd qualify (even though I've been with this bank for about 20 years).
Anyway, my point is, that even with all this credit crisis banking system meltdown business, banks are still trying to give out credit cards.
Plus, I get offers for new credit cards and to lend me money for balance transfers, etc., virtually every single day. Every day. Including today.
Of course, if you read the fine print, these come with interest rates as high as 28.99% for "cash advances," which means getting the money as cash instead of using it to steal business from a rival credit card.
A young hourly unskilled wage earner with a family is buying his second home from my parents. Closing is on Tuesday. He had no trouble obtaining this new mortgage.
My daughter and her husband chose a beautiful large house a few weeks ago and were funded yesterday. The seller was also funded for his new home. No problems whatsoever. We’ve been waiting for the shoe to drop but they close next week.
I’ve been having a very hard time getting a construction loan for a commercial property I own. What ticks me off is that I’m asking for a loan that isn’t much more than the cost of an expensive car, but the bank is giving me all kinds of crap over it. I have an excellent credit record, and the property in question has a solid tenant already signed.
(2) We do not know what rate you got.
(3) we do not know what the quality of your credit rating is.
Can’t say. I pay cash for everything. I have noticed that there is a lot less resistance (none even) to asking for a cash discount. Got a killer all cash deal on a Subaru for the wife.
We have had four houses in our neighborhood in a Houston suburb that have sold within the last 3 months - 3 took 3-4 months, one took 2 weeks. Have another one that’s been on the market for 6 months-listed by seller and priced at $40,000 more than they paid for it 5 years ago. They are selling-sometimes takes creative financing. Excellent credit is almost always a must. Even in the good days some houses just simply didn’t sell; oftentimes it’s difficult to figure out why. Market will come back some. Hope you can hang in there.
Serious question, is he hispanic or russian? Just a yes or no is fine.
I asked one of my best friends today whether he, in his capacity as a mortgage lender, has had any trouble getting money for his clients. He answered ABSOLUTELY NOT! He said that B and C credit folks can’t get a loan, but (his words) “life is absolutely no different for folks like you and me”.
He said he is actually going to be putting an ad on the radio next week telling folks that if they believe the reports that loans are not available, call him! He’ll do very well with that!
