The Mets know how to choke better than anybody else.

My father was a lifelong Brooklyn Dodgers then after the move NY Mets fan. This is just unreal how they have blown it like this 2 years in a row....the last of Shea Stadium as well**

That is why this is posted in:

We need a little break from the insanity that is going on with the election and capitol hill...and sometimes like during 9-11...it was the baseball playoffs that did that very thing...give us a sanity break.

Tell you what, go to a thread where the discussion is more to your liking.

Respectfully, we have more important issues in this country than sports and who made/missed the playoffs.

Then why your post to this thread?

There is nothing, not a single thing more American than baseball.

Losing Wagner was a big hit to them. How many games did they blow in the 8th and 9th innings?

Was it two or three seasons ago that they blew 13 games in a row?

We as people need to focus on the survival of this country than someone playing with balls.

Is acting like a dumb-ass newbie on an internet forum your idea of "focusing on the survival of this Country"?

I've been a Mets fan ever since the first pitch was thrown.(wasn't Yogi the first manager) We use to take the #7 to the park, eat dogs, drink some brewskies and yell at the umps. It was just fun. We never saw it as a business till Steinbrener bought the Yanks. That changed the feeling of the game for us, The war changed us forever. My move to Texas changed me even deeper. Last year I went back to my old stomping grounds and took my son(who is 25) to a game. During the 5th he turned to me and told me what a great time he was having, eating dogs, drinking sum brewskies and connecting with me. I don't remember who won the game, it didn't matter. He had helped me change again.

Actually had the Cubs and then the Mets on TV in the background while following the world on here today. You’re right, we need our diversions or we would go insane. Besides that, I’m trying to recall if I was on here on July 10, 1999 trying to tell folks what to post or not post. No.

Last year...1 year ago..which makes it sting all the more. Really something that both the Yanks and Mets in their final year of their stadiums and neither will be in post-season play.

I’m in WI. Coming down to the last game of the season to have this decided, what a relief.

Watching those New Yorkers throw the bird and insults at McCain supporters in a parade last weekend.

New York sucks........

Was just about to start an end of season/start of playoffs
thread. Yes buh bye to Yankee and Shea Stadium; no playoff
baseball in NYC for first time in how many years...?

Red Sox trail Yankees 4-2 in 9th inning right now; if
Yankees win, it would be the first 20 win season for
Mussina, I believe. otherwise, game meaningless

1 game playoff in AL central tomorrow? Det vs Chi to
determine whether Chi or Min wins AL central? Heard them
saying on Red Sox radio that Ozzie Guillen, White Sox
mgr., didn’t exactly have kind words to say about
Tigers pitcher Freddy Garcia (once Red Sox property)
and now Garcia will face them tomorrow?

I told my mother the other day when she was going nuts with what Obama is getting away with and the banking mess...TURN OFF THE NEWS. I said you have 400 channels on digital cable...go find something else for a few hours other than that. Watch a movie...go play golf...go paint...go in the hot tub...it’s refreshing to get away from it and with the playoffs here this week...methinks some tension will be taken away from it all.

We will have the cities of Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, Boston, and possibly Minnesota...the funny thing? ALL Liberal cities.
