Today my sister and I stopped by my Dad's in Ballwin Missouri, a far west suburb of West St. Louis County chatting about life in general and the all the crap being flung about this election season.
As we were pulling out of the driveway I yell to my Dad "NOBAMA!!". Unbeknownest to us across the street a Prius with Illinois plates was stopped. As I yelled that, the doors opened and two young black girls (maybe 17 or 18) get out of the car and go to the house next door.
Curious, I backed up into my Dad's driveway again and got out of the car and went inside to see if Dad noticed them. Sure enough he did. Next thing you know, they are ringing his doorbell. As he did not want to answer it (I think he was afraid he would go off at the young women since our assumption was they were trolling for Obama) I went and answered the door. Lo and behold! They asked if I supported the election in November. I said "Of course I support the election in November." They then asked me if I supported Obama and I said, "No. Nope, not a chance. Nope." As soon as they heard the first no, they turned and walked away.
After we left there a few minutes later, we ended up at QT for some gas ($2.99/gal!!!) and saw this SUV just SMEARED with bumper stickers. It also had Illinois plates. I start saying "Jeez! lookit all those stickers! The duck tape of the new millinium! Bumper stickers." (And yes, they were mostly Obama's and other liberal drivel.) As I am pumping gas, the chick that was in the SUV and heard me pulls out of the parking place and starts to yell at me. I basically ignore her and continue on with my business. She continues to yell so I finally look at her and take a few steps toward her car and say "You got a problem there, hon?" Her eyes got wide and she took off without saying another word. Some of the other customer's were looking at me and I said, "Well, if ya can't stand the heat, get on the porch!"
My whole point here is that, even though we see a lot of Illinois plates in StL, this was different. It was as if they were purposely canvassing St. Louis, West St. Louis specifically. For those not in the know, far W. StL County and St. Charles County are really really red. Looks like der Messiah has his minions trying to infiltrating conservative strongholds.
Sorry you are so upset. Nothing posted here will change any of it.
I have never flown my flag but I keep it cause some day I might. That is part of my history.
Too bad you (and me for that matter) were not in the class room with my 16 year old daughter the day she explained what the rebel flag was about.
And you speak for ALL Southerners?
And you speak for ALL Southerners?

I can tell by your humbleness that you are a sweetheart, but you have no need to apologize for that photo...I think it's great!
I want to have tea with you too!
BTW, I sell flags online, so if you do ever need a Confederate, Bonnie Blue or any other flag, just let me know!
WOW,that’s as pretty as Colorado! ;o)

Now had your 16 yr old daughter snatched Stars and Bars out of the hands of a Grand Dragon of the Klan and explained to him what the flag was about, that might have made an impression and more importantly, a difference.
Hehehe! Our mountains aren’t nearly as majestic as yours, but I always tell westies that’s b/c they are older and worn down by the elements. ;)
That is a great answer... never thought of it like that.
"At the time they formed, the Appalachians were much higher than they are today -- more like the present-day Rocky Mountains. While the Atlantic Ocean was still in its infancy, the Appalachians were already being attacked by erosion. For the last 100 million years, erosion has carved away the mountains, leaving only their cores standing."
