Illinois license plates have been a sign of trouble since 1970 or before. In September, 1970, I returned to my high school to note that there were several cars with Illinois license plates in the parking lot. I found that odd, since my high school is at least 250 miles from the Illinois border. There were three, or perhaps four Illinois plates in the parking lot. I also noted that the drivers of these cars were African American. That didn’t surprise me since Chicago had a large AA population. Before the end of the year, civil unrest and a number of violent incidents had occurred. Several white sudents were severely beaten. In recent years, I have wondered if a group from Illinois, perhaps Jesse Jackson Rainbow PUSH or a similar group, had been involved. Although I was less than ten years old in 1960, I also remembered hearing that the Mayor of Chicago had let dead people vote to throw the 1960 Presidential election. And people I know from around Chicago are unrepentant Leftists. Chicago, Illinois=TROUBLE.

Agreed. My family comes from Bloomington IL and I feel sorry for my relatives that have to put up with Chicago running the whole darned state. They are fighting the good fight tho, or at least trying to. But sometimes, as my cousin says, its like pissing on a wildfire.
