Are you from a big city? Do you discount ordinary people because they misspelled a word? Or is it the rebel flag?
I don’t think of myself as being that prejudiced.
I am trying really hard to NOT have a bad opinion of you because you look down on people who are not YOUR peers.
I’m with you; as long as they shoot straight I don’t give a fig how they spell. By the way, for the spelling snobs among us-Thomas Jefferson was a notoriously poor speller.
Don't try too hard...just have a bad opinion of me and move on.
I’m a conservative from the south and you are damned right that I resent the bad spelling and the Rebel Flag. I’m sick and tired of the south being associated with ignorance.
You don’t think that the spelling on the signs is that big of a deal. Here’s a hint- someone point out to this idiot that there are improperly spelled words and they should be fixed. The signs are painted on cardboard box- they can and should be replaced without much effort to save the poor home owner any more embarassment, not to mention other McCain/Palin supporters.
And I won’t start about the Stars and Bars except to say that when the Klan was waving it, none of my southern brothers were jumping up to say, “that flag is for heritage, not hate!!!”. And when American Nazis carried them on parade, no one from the south was screaming, “that flag should be used for heritage not hate!”. It’s only when people who remember the banner as having been adopted by the Klan and Nazis start to disparage it, that anyone from my neck of the wood start to claim the flag as being a symbol of heritage.
Long and short of it- change the signs and lose the flag. McCain has the south, he needs to shore up the midwest and west.
