Jimmy is a left wing bastard and the most overrated musician on the planet.

If he’d just shut up and sing, he’d be ok.

Cab driver in Vegas told me that he picked up a couple of young girls from Lousiana at the airport & overheard them talking about “Jimmy Boo Fey” as they passed a billboard advertisement. The one girl said, “I hear that Jimmy Boo-Fey is really good!”

Cracked us up!

I’ve been a Parrothead for thirty years and still love his music. Concerts have become increasingly tedious in the last few years. A lot more fun before I stopped drinking.

I haven’t been to a concert in about 10 years, but I remember getting in the conga line as it snaked its way around the lawn at Merriweather Post in MD.

Yeah, but as the article says, Jimmy Buffett is a ‘brand’. If he ever stops touring, I wonder what happens to the empire that he’s built?

Another analogy is Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The company reportedly makes more profit from licensing the brand than they do selling bikes. But what would happen to the brand if they ever stopped building motorcycles?

Those concerts at Merriweather Post were pretty fun until the cops really cracked down on the festivities. No more tailgates. One year it was fantastic, the next it was just another concert.

I’ve liked his music OK over the years. After he announced he was going to hold a concert for Obama a few months ago, that killed it.

I’m with ya’ on that. The shows in my party days were a hoot. Since I now act responsibly, I quit going. Wasn’t much to it after a few songs if you ain’t at the all weekend party.

Just visited the Ferrari Brand store in Union Square SF(just for laughs). How the heck (even in the snooty district of SF) does one make a profit selling Ferrari jackets, panties, etc? How big is the demand? Does one don a Ferrari jacket to impress his squeeze? Do women even understand Ferrari?

I will only be satisfied if he shuts up completely.

Jimmy is a left wing bastard and the most overrated musician on the planet.

As a musician, I can tell you with certainty that he is overrated. And believe me - I don't care for his politics. He, along with Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and The Boss are on my sh!t list after their fervent support of Zer0bama.

Having said that, I still enjoy going to Key West and stopping into Margaritaville. Upon arrival, I get a margarita or two or three on my way to watching the sunset. Before I depart, I have my cheeseburger in paradise. Corny? Yes, but it's a tradition and I'm a traditional guy.

(Side Note: I was talking to a bartender at Margaritaville a couple of years ago. We got to talking and I found out he was a submariner that served on LA class fast-attacks. We talked about submarines for thirty minutes or so, but I had to leave for the airport. I came back a year later and he said - just like I'd seen him the day before - "Hey, Rog! What's up?!" Pretty cool!)

It's amazing: Buffett had his only top 10 hit in 1977 and thirty years later he's pulling in 40 mil a year? God Bless America! As I always say: it's easy to be super rich and be a uber-liberal as you have enough money to insulate yourself from the nonsense you want to foist on everyone else.

Just my $0.02.

Same here . Love his music but not his politics. His choice if he chooses to be stupid . Have a Parrot Head hat and shirt bought in Key West and have been to Margaritaville.

Not a big fan of his music, but the guy seems to be happy and talented. So more power to him. He’s done some good things with his life and he makes people happy.
