I heard on Fox News this morning that the Madoff investors are clamoring for a bailout for putting all of their money with this weasel.
Also that among them is Kevin Bacon and his wife. This kind of takes the non-existent fun out of that game 7 Degrees from Kevin Bacon.
We' all soon shall be only 1 degree from Kevin Bacon

If this bailout crap continues the Dollar will resemble the German Mark at the end of WWI when it will take a wheelbarrow of money to nuy a loaf of bread.

I can see bailing out the banks because banking is crucial to the economy.

I can see bailing out the auto industry because it’s a really big part of the economy.

One way to destroy the “wealthy” is to reduce the value of their accumulated assets. Inflation does exactly that.

Inflation only destroys currency (in our case dollar) denominated wealth. If you have non-cash assets you can come out of inflation pretty well. And if you can buy a lot of property with fixed-rate loans and have inflation essentially wipe out the loans for you, you can come out way ahead.

I've heard stories about people going through bouts of hyperinflation in South America where the stamps to send in mortgage payments cost more than the mortgage payments did.

My mother grew up in Germany during the 20’s and 30’s. A few years ago she gave me a 1 trillion Mark note she had saved (after the bills had been cancelled). Hopefully I won't see a 1 Trillion dollar bill.

The latest I heard this afternoon is that the Feds are going to release $28 million or so, so that he can liquidate his company and that his employees are still showing up at work and being paid to do nothing.
That's according to FNC anyway.
