Patrick Swayze checked himself into the hospital this morning suffering from a bout of pneumonia, which is said to be a complication of chemotherapy treatments for his pancreatic cancer.
Swayze appeared on television this week, giving an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters about his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Swayze was scheduled to join his fellow co-star and producers in presenting A&E's new drama The Beast to critics, which he stars in. After realizing he would be too ill to make it, according to A&E reps, Patrick asked that the show go on and that they pass along a message from him about how "unbelievably proud" he is of the work they've done so far on the show.
"You can bet that I'm going through Hell," Swayze recently told Walters. "And I've only seen the beginning of it. There's a lot of fear here. There's a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm asking, 'Why me?'"

He’s a good man....follow his life story.....
Prayers for him....
I’m not happy to hear about it either. I don’t like to hear of anyone being ill. Like anyone else, I would wish him a full and speedy recovery, but I am not confident that is in the works for him. It’s unfortunate.
poor guy, this is not good
Give the guy a break - he’s dying, and he’s being asked how he feels.
This sounds like the beginning of the end. Cancer of the pancreas is such a wretched painful disease. Prayers for a miracle.
Just imagine what you might do if a doctor said you have only two weeks left to live.
An 11-year-old leukemia patient inspires food drives across the country. For 11-year-old Brenden Foster of Bothell, Wash., who was given that prognosis earlier this year after learning he was suffering from leukemia last December, the answer was probably not what you’d expect.
“I was coming back from one of my clinic appointments and I saw this big thing of homeless people and then I thought I should just get them something,” Foster said.

Quite a contrast. The young man died recently but he inspired many.
Who crapped in your Cheerios this morning
Sad, I like him. Saw him on tv yesterday and he looked frail. :(
I saw his interview with BW the other night. He knows what’s coming and even knows there is something after death. I hope that somehow he finds Christ before he leaves us. I’m praying for that and have been all week.
The correct response.
“I suggest that Mr. Swayze come to my town, and visit St. Jude Children’s hospital. He just might not be so consumed with his self pity.”
That was pretty hateful!!
I’ve always liked him, too.
I didn't hear the interview, but unless he said he's not a believer, maybe he already has.
Are you suggesting that his illness and death will be less painful and grievous because of his age? That’s a very cold attitude.
Excellent response. May God be with him and give him strength and comfort for what lies ahead.
“He just might not be so consumed with his self pity.”
I don’t quite know how to respond to such a callous, shocking and cruel statement. So you you think this guy should go look at other dying people so he won’t be so self absorbed about his own dying? Really?
