Food Storage Buying Guide 2007 (6 months supply for one adult)<<<
LOL, I disagree....I could and did use it when I still cooked everyday.
Walton’s oats are in 20 or 25 pound bags and I was ready to reorder in 4 months.
One loaf of bread takes a pound and a half or flour, that is
15 or 20 pounds a month for me.
Not that far off and a little short if one were living only from the stored foods.
I almost was, as I had over a year that I had no way to go to town for shopping, when I first started passing out, I quit driving.
That year, I lived on Walton Feed.com supplies and did well and ate well.
LOL, I did miss cookies, cheese and fresh vegetables, but I survived.
I am glad you are growing a garden....think of me when you eat that first tomato.
Don’t be a stranger, check in more often.
GRAINS:
Rolled oats - 20 lbs
Pasta (spaghetti/macaroni) - 15 lbs
Wholegrain (wheat, rice, pearled barley) - 112 lbs
Flour/cornmeal - 23 lbs
The first part of the post. It's 170LBS of dry food.
As saturated, it's 7x that much weight. = 1190 lbs of food.
It's enough food for one person for two years. I was commenting that the numbers were
wrong on the data. I know it's not your data Grandma, I Love ya.
HUG..
4 cups hot/warm water
1 tsp vanilla
Place all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Let the milk set for about 30 minutes, then without shaking pour the milk into another container ( i use an old honey jar) leaving most of the sediment in the first container. This makes about 4 - 4 1/2 cups. Notes: When I have used cold water and the rice was taken out of the refrigerator, it just doesnt come out that well. I dont know why but its best to use warm water and warm rice (you can nuke it if its leftovers but freshly made is best) I have even let it set longer than 30 minutes (overnight) without it making a difference.
1 cup cooked rice (I've used white or brown)
This was missing from the ingredients when they copied it.
