We just trapped a feral cat and took her to the vet for neutering.(There is an organization here that pays part of the cost.) Brought her home last night and she slept (???) in the cage in our bedroom all night. Early this A.M. we released her per the vet’s orders and she was one unhappy cat!! Took off like a bat out of you know what. Probably won’t be back for a handout for a few days. Now only two more to go. Wish people from the local campground wouldn’t just drop off their unwanted animals when they leave in the fall.

That’s great that you’re helping the ferals. I would like to see everyone that abandons a pet have the same thing done to them - drop them off in the middle of the desert/forest/whatever and see how they do.

I just took a ‘stray’ to the vet too. He was limping. Somehow, he ended up getting fixed, shots, and given a name. I guess he’s mine now ;)

LOL I cant blame it for taking off..... I think I would too...

Ok, gotta add this - My now school teacher daughter who was always the animal person of my children went out to the shed one day with her boyfriend - I asked her if she was looking for something and she told me she would tell me later...

Well, later she told me that he was sort of hinting around about going further than she thought appropriate - So, she took him out and showed him my Burdizzo Emasculator Clamp (calf and sheep castrator). She then told him that if a guy got too carried away that I had sworn to use it on them... She said he turned white as a sheet... Oh, he is now my Son-in-Law and father to two of my grandchildren... But, she said he took it to heart!! Ahhh, once in a while that farm training pays off for the kids....

People will do even worse here, they take them out in the desert and dump them.

Here, our coyotes have bred with these dogs and we have an ugly situation, as kids will attempt to pet a dog and it turns on them instantly.

If they did to people what they do to dogs and cats, there would be less people and animals on this earth.
