"The Bachelor" Jason Mesnick wants you to know he’s not really a total wanker.
He now tells Momlogic.com that Melissa Rycroft knew their relationship was over BEFORE the show.
But he says she played the boo-hoos to the hilt anyway. And he doesn't regret a thing.
"I mean, our last conversation was: 'Are you gonna to wear the ring? Because you know we're not together.' And I think that she probably had some hopes still that maybe I was gonna change my mind, 'cause she was really upset, " he told Momlogic.com
"We didn't talk a couple of days before we shot. And that's OK. No matter what I said, she was going to be upset. We've talked about not being together over the phone, but I had to tell her stuff in person too. I'm not as cowardly as it might seem or as much of a jerk as I might seem for doing it on camera. But that was my only chance to do it."

Well, so much for the Sanctity of Marriage when people are winning their spouse on a TV Game Show.
According to Him, The spark faded the moment the show ended 6 weeks before this after the rose show. She had to know and is just trying to gin up public sympathy.
Has ANY of the Male Bachelors maintained a marriage from this show? I stopped watching it years ago but we know Trista was the only one that was able to truly benefit from the show.

The guy is a bum, bringing his kids into it and not committing, even after 6-8 weeks.
Anyone who still likes this guy needs to have their head examined.

Exactly. A friend of mine's girlfriend was on a reality show--a fairly obscure cable one. They'd established her boyfriend early on, but over the weeks of filming they broke up and she started dating my friend (they'd dated years before). For the sake of the show and the established story line, the producers had her and her old boyfriend pretend to still be together. In fact, they had to pretend to still be living together, with scenes filmed in their apartment, even though she'd moved out.
With all that is going on does this really belong on FR?

It’s an excellent case of media manipulation. And, in case you haven’t noticed, I placed this in Chat not in Politics or News. FReepers don’t eat/sleep/drink “meaningful issues” 24/7. Some actually have some fun now and then. So, yes, there is a place for this topic.

My thoughts exactly. If people want this kind of stuff, they should read People Magazine.
Better he change his mind now than after the wedding.
The lesson I learned from that is to choose a mate with an IQ signifigantly lower than your own. Seems to be the key with that couple, and I wish them all the happiness in the world. I just hope their kids get HER brains and HIS jawline!
